Video Mine Resurrected
Some of you might recognize this name... others not so much..
Story time, when I was a kid… my hometown had two main video rental places. A place called Dot’s and the Video Mine.
The Video Mine was my default rental place and for good reason. See the founders/owners are family.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time there browsing the isles and just about every weekend renting tapes and NES games (Battle Toads anyone?)
the Video Mine to this day still holds a very special place in my heart and memories.
So, when the store was shuttered what seems like a lifetime ago, it was sad for all of us that frequented the place.
Fast forward to about a year or so ago, I was talking with my bro (the son of the owners), about reviving the name but for a new venture in the spirit of the original. With the Blessing of the previous owners, I’m doing just that.
The Video Mine name is being resurrected and will now be a brand label focused on special and limited home video releases on DVD & VHS (yes you read that right VHS).
Our first release on the label (under the Horror Tag) is going to be my film “A Haunting in Appalachia ™”. It’s being released as an Ultra Limited VHS. Each copy will be signed and numbered. Once their gone, their gone.
“A Haunting in Appalachia™ “, Appalachia a place of rolling hills and tremendous beauty but beneath the surface terror is always just around the bend. This Film Documents one of these Horrors. When a internet video content creator starts filming a new series on the paranormal, he gets more than he bargained for. Unleashing pure terror, all for the sake of content.
Making this film, I was inspired by personal experiences and stories growing up in the Appalachian Mountains, “A Haunting in Appalachia™“ is a “Found Footage” film based on Appalachian History, Folklore and True Practices that are still passed down and enacted in some parts of the mountains.
Pre-Order info will be available soon right here on jseancollins.com
